Translating the Menopause at The University of Edinburgh

How lucky was I this month to be invited to talk all things menopause at The University of Edinburgh Finance Team summer away day.

I was invited to deliver a short overview, taken from my CPD accredited training course, The Menopause: Translated to help people’s understanding of menopause.

Over a quick 45 minutes I talked through a range of topics from, what is menopause, the history, the global view, who is affected, the biology and the stages and symptoms, through to the health risks and how an integrated approach of health, nutrition, and exercise is the key to managing your menopause journey. Finally ending with support in the workplace. A whistle stop tour which raised awareness on the often challenging topic of menopause.

A massive thank you to Lee Hamill, Finance Director of the University of Edinburgh,  for bringing awareness to this subject and his support in spreading the menopause word.

Lee Hamill said, ‘Thank you to Tania Hemming for sharing your knowledge about the menopause at our Team Finance Summer Event today.

Tania is a certified menopause coach who recently delivered an empowering course for colleagues. It was great to share her expertise on this very important topic with even more members of finance today.’

This all came from an event that  Kirsty Mackenzie of imultiply put together for a small group of leaders to hear me talk about menopause and its impact in the workplace.

This is what happens from one conversation – more people gaining knowledge, changing attitudes and supportive actions. How good is that.
